Data Protection Lead

Our ability to ensure our customer data is protected effectively is essential, as using data effectively continues to be a central plank of our overall strategy.
That is where you come in. We are recruiting a Data Protection Lead to be part of a pro-active advisory team providing expert advice to all commercial business areas on data protection issues risks arising under the Data Protection Act, GDPR and PECR.
About the role
You will be responsible for your own portfolio of internal commercial clients and will be expected to advise on the application of data protection laws, regulations and policies in relation to commercial, digital and marketing products, supplier agreements, and on innovative partnerships in the UK and the US & Australia.
You will help develop the data protection management framework at GNM and, working with the DPO, help assure robust and regulatory compliance of personal data use across GNM.
To be considered for this role, we’re looking for you to have demonstrable experience of advising in a similar role, within advertising, marketing or media, and knowledge of data protection laws,regulations and policies including the DPA, GDPR and PECR. A professional legal qualification or a data protection qualification, whilst not essential, would be welcome.
It’s important you have the stakeholder management skills and emotional intelligence to build strong relationships with a broad range of teams in a complex, matrix environment, and adapt your style as needed whilst ensuring you deliver.
